POSTPONED

Out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus we will postpone Saturday’s Start Fresh Empowerment Conference.

Start Fresh 2020

COGO Ministries (Church Of God Ohio)

Spring Empowerment Conference

Welcome to a new year and a new decade. Though these words are meant to encourage you, welcome wishes cannot empower you! They often times serve as warm fuzzies to deflect one’s reality. COGO (Church of God OHIO) Ministries have labored long and hard to move you and your faith community beyond just experiencing warm fuzzies by offering you the opportunity to participate in our annual Spring Empowerment Conference. Our theme this year is “Not Alone” and it is designed to help our church leaders and congregations experience a time of growth and affirmation as they serve in ministry and live out their faith! Highlights this year will include…find out MORE

PASTOR’S WIVES ONLY
Hosts Doreen Booker and Carolyn Lewis

Welcome to the Stress-Free Zone!

Pastors wives are the most challenged, pressured individuals in our congregations. They serve their spouse as well as several ministries in the church. Often times they sacrifice time with their husband and family to help the church without receiving any kudos.Come prepared to be pampered and massaged, and taught about essential oils from experts around the Columbus areas. If you are a pastor’s wife, sign up for Start Fresh and experience food, folks and fun throughout the day. If you are NOT a pastor’s wife, consider sponsoring them to a time they will never forget.

To get the most out of this track …Registration is Required

Partners In Ministry

Need to reduce risk factors?
Our partners in ministry, Brotherhood Mutual and Everence will be at Start Fresh leading four sessions.

As we continue to focus on the theme, “Not Alone”, this week’s reminder about our upcoming empowerment conference is about two of our strong partnerships. Companies whose mission is to help our local churches by providing goods and services that would be too cost prohibited for clergy and volunteers to go on their own.
In addition, the voluminous information needed to ensure our churches are in compliance with local, state and federal, laws and regulations, requires experts who are experienced and knowledgeable. Whether you have volunteers or employees who mean well, but simply lack the knowledge and time invested to reduce risk factors, or paid employees, our partners in ministry, Brotherhood Mutual and Everence will be at Start Fresh manning their booth and leading four sessions in the areas of …
  • Integrating Faith & Finances
  • Helping Your Faith Community Deal With Money Issues
  • Loss Control & Risk Management
  • Safety & Security

Because “Start Fresh” is a low-cost, “High-Impact” conference designed for every user to take what they have learned and immediately use their new found knowledge in their local congregation, these four sessions are designed to add value to both clergy and congregational leaders!

We are encouraging all board members, trustees and elders to attend. For $20 dollars, you won’t find a better deal anywhere!

DISASTER RELIEF TEAM

YOU ARE NOT ALONE WHEN A CRISIS HITS YOUR COMMUNITY

What happens when an EF3 tornado hits close to home?
COGO Disaster Relief and several other congregations responded in action to bring comfort and a helping hand. Nearly nine months ago, on May 28, 2019, a tornado with winds up to 140 mph hit the Beavercreek, Dayton area of Ohio.

Both COGO Disaster Relief and three of our area Church of God congregations volunteered both their services and finances to help individuals, families and affected congregations who were suffering as a result of this devastation.

Come hear their testimonies, and view videos that tell the story of how the local and broader Churches of God help bring comfort to those in need.
Come and learn what you and/or your congregation can do to be part of such a team when a future devastating event occurs. (Session G2)

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

This year’s Start Fresh Lineup starts with two Keynote Speakers, Pastor Josh Chaffin and State Associate Pastor Demetrius Booker.

Pastor Josh will speak on the transformational changes that he and his congregation, Creston Community Church have gone through as a result of their 2016 partnership with COGO Ministries.

Rev. Booker will speak on the theme, “Not Alone”, highlighting the challenges Ohio congregations, lay leaders and clergy face as they serve in leadership positions.

Following our two keynote speakers, several church leaders will share their stories of victories over their challenges. Challenges such as declining Sunday AM Attendance, Vision Casting, Leadership Development, New Church Life-Cycle and Community Relevancy.

If your church is struggling in any of the above areas, this is your “Ram in the brush” opportunity to hear real stories and proven solutions that can help your congregation or ministry.
